Terms of Service

1. Agreement

By using id.cantonloop.com, you ("User") agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, discontinue use immediately.

2. Description of service

id.cantonloop.com:

  • Facilitates credential issuance, verification, and sharing.
  • Allows users to manage and consent to verification requests.
  • Stores encrypted references or on-chain attestations under user control.

3. Non-custodial architecture

Loop never controls your private keys or on-chain data. You remain the sole custodian of your credentials.

4. Eligibility

You must be 18 years or older (or the legal age of majority) and capable of entering a binding agreement.

5. User responsibility

  • You are responsible for the security of your keys and devices.
  • Loop cannot recover lost credentials or access.
  • Misuse or unauthorized access caused by negligence is your responsibility.

6. Ownership & limited license

  • You retain ownership of your data.
  • You grant Loop a temporary, limited license to process and transmit data solely to operate the service.
  • Public on-chain attestations are inherently visible to network participants.

7. Verification and issuers

  • Loop facilitates verification workflows; issuers remain responsible for their attestations.
  • Loop disclaims liability for any third-party inaccuracy or fraud.

8. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • Engage in illegal or abusive activity.
  • Attempt to hack, reverse engineer, or disrupt the platform.
  • Misuse APIs or impersonate others.

9. Fees

Basic use is free unless otherwise stated.
Premium or institutional services may carry fees, disclosed prior to activation.

10. Intellectual property

All platform code, design, and trademarks belong to Loop.
You receive a revocable, limited license to access and use the Service.

11. Privacy

Use of personal data is governed by the accompanying Privacy Policy.

12. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided AS IS and AS AVAILABLE.
Loop makes no warranty as to uptime, compatibility, or verification accuracy.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Wyoming law:

  • Loop and its affiliates are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages (including lost profits or data).
  • Total direct liability is capped at the greater of (a) the total fees paid to Loop in the past 12 months, or (b) $5,000 USD.

This cap does not apply to gross negligence or willful misconduct.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify Loop and its officers against claims or damages arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

15. Termination

Loop may suspend or terminate your account for policy violations or unlawful conduct.
You may terminate at any time; on-chain data persists immutably.

16. Governing law & jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
All disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Sheridan County, Wyoming.

17. Law enforcement

Loop complies with valid legal process from Wyoming or U.S. authorities and will notify users when legally permitted.

18. Amendments

We may update these Terms periodically. Continued use constitutes acceptance of the latest version.

19. Entire agreement

These Terms and the Privacy Policy represent the full agreement between you and Loop.
If any provision is found invalid, the remainder remains enforceable.
